Life Before Make Believe

This lack of understanding of the concept of time has made evil people very rich. The evil person only has to promise NOW, they don’t have to deliver any results. Truly, more people will pay money than attention.

The thing, as the wise know, is to listen to those who have been through the journey. Heed their experience, even if you don’t agree with their advice. The most important part any journey’s success is the mindset of the person making the journey.

About the Mindset on this side of make believe.

I am a mathematician, not a numerologist or a Telsa vortex math peddler. Pure math is my discipline. I’ve always been a mathematician, even before the college degrees made it official.

As a descendant of the stolen peoples of Africa and a female educated by Jesuits, I’ve always existed in a duality of worlds in the US.

Black women just aren’t known for becoming mathematicians and Jesuits aren’t known for educating them. However, it in a world of dualities connections are made.

If you perform a search for black female mathematicians, the movie ” Hidden Figures” pops up. The title is correct, because apparently we’re so hidden that only 4 of us ever existed.

Of course, if you scroll down, you’ll see a few others, but it’s so rare to actually meet one of us that most people just confess their mathematical sins and run away.

Like I keep a stash of math problems in my pocket to pass out to strangers 🤣

Then there are those “others” who wish to test my mathematical spirits. 😑

“I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?”
“We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere
[Black wo]man, claim to [know] math.” My transliteration of John 10:22-23
